The Grouchy Ladybug

Kindergarten students listened to The Grouchy Ladybug by Eric Carle and created these woks of art complete with the grouchy and friendly ladybug, the leaf and aphids.



Positive and Negative Space with Keith Haring

Fourth grade students had the opportunity to pose in front of the class while their classmates created gesture drawings of them. Those gesture drawings were re-drawn onto colorful paper, cut out and glued onto black paper to show the positive and negative space of the cut out.



Adinkra Cloth

Fifth grade students created these Adinkra prints using symbols from the African country of Ghana.

Pinch Pot Monsters

Third grade students created these pinch pot monsters. Students first created a pinch pot and then used a slip and score method to attach facial features appropriate for a monster.



Planting a Rainbow

Kindergarten students listened to Planting a Rainbow by Lois Ehlert and created their own rainbow of flowers.

Insects with Symmetry

Second grade students created these bugs using a collage technique and creating symmetry.





Animal Masks

Fifth grade students created these 3-D masks of a personally selected animal. Students built off of a plastic human face form with newspaper and covered that newspaper amateur with plaster gauze. Students finished the masks with acrylic paint and fur.
